atelier LÂME architecture, France

Graduated from ETSAM (Madrid) and ENSAPLV (Paris) respectively, Angel Menendez and Alexandre Lahyani first met at studio Milou, where they jointly developed cultural projects such as the Carreau du Temple in Paris or the New Comédie in Saint Etienne. 

They created atelier LÂME architecture in 2013 and distinguished themselves by being winners of Europan 13. Their practice today includes mostly public equipments and public cultural facilities as well as commercial architectural projects.

Atelier LÂME creates projects on a variety of scales, landscapes and typologies such as the construction a Black burnt wood theater in the center of Pornichet (44), a Concrete minimalist cultural hall and a youth space in La Rochelle (17) or The rehabilitation of Jean Racine cultural center and a new music school near Paris (78). 
Since 2019, atelier LÂME has been working on a project to rehabilitate and extend the Malraux cultural centre in the south of Paris (91). 

Echoing the generational challenge they face most of their project are about rehabilitation and transforming the existing, always paying a special attention in the use of local techniques and materials. 
Atelier LÂME has brought together a young team designed to gather a variety of sensibilities and complementary skills.
