Thomas Bouchet leads the architectural firm FIGURES, along with Brice Launay. FIGURES was founded in 2015 in Paris. Though it treats all types of programmes with the same care and attention, FIGURES focuses on formal responses that are clear, controlled, and coherent with the constraints of each project. Despite the heterogeneous aspect of their programming, scale, and context, their projects show a willingness to build a coherent and continuous whole. The challenge is the long-term implementation of a way of thinking, a project approach.To this end, they develop, in response to the identified constraints and points of interest, a form of architectural rationalism in which the elements are reduced to fundamentals and their declinations. Finally, they advocate an environmental approach, one that goes beyond a simple fulfilment of requirements. It is the combination of the vectors of architectural quality that are the energy control, the attachment to the comfort of use, the durability of the materials and the timeliness of the architecture that constitutes their approach to sustainable development.
