2018 “Europe 40under40®" Award Winners: Announcing the Best Emerging Young Architects & Designers in Europe

Athens, GR: The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design are pleased to announce the selection of this year’s most promising and emerging design talents in Europe for 2018.

WINNERS’ LIST: Spread across Europe, the selected young recipients for the 2018 “Europe 40 Under 40®” come from Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey. The laureates selected for 2018 that provide an insight of the architectural scene in Europe with alphabetical order and per country are:

THE SELECTION PROCESS: The forty architects and designers of 2018 were selected by a jury composed by some of the most prestigious architecture academics of The National School of Architecture of Paris - Belleville / École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville (ENSAPB).

More specifically, this year’s jury was comprised from: 
Ιoannis Karalias: Chairman of The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, Vice President of The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
• Herve Roux: Architect, Professor at ENSAPB, Workshop Model Manager Network Coordinator ENSAteliers, Co-coordinator of Cluster Art Architecture Heritage Landscape Project of Ile de France.
• Anne Grillet-Aubert: Architect-urbanist, Professor at ENSAPB and researcher at UMR AUSser (CNRS).
• Paul Gresham: Architect DLPG, Founder of G+architectes, Tenured professor at ENSAPB.
• Αghis Pangalos: Architect DLPG, Co-founder in “pangalos feldmann architects”, Professor at ENSAPB.
Bita Azimi: Architect, Co-founder in CAB agency, Winner of “Prix D’ architectures 2019”.
• Gaëlle Breton: Architect DPLG, Certified Carpenter, Associate Professor in TPCAU at the ENSA in Paris-Belleville.
• James Saywell: Architect and critic, Editor-in-Chief of Hinge Magazine.

THE PROGRAM “EUROPE 40 UNDER 40®”: the program is initiated by The European Center as an annual program to spotlight and identify the next generation of architects and designers who will impact future living and working environments, cities, and rural areas. The program is open to all young architects, landscape architects, urban planners, industrial designers, graphic designers, fashion and textile designers currently under the age of 40, working independently / in a firm / on a specific project as the lead designer.

USEFUL INFORMATION: “EUROPE 40 UNDER 40®" exhibition’s opening will take place in June 13th, 2019 at EUROPEAN CENTRE (74 Mitropoleos Str). Afterwards, the exhibition is planned to be hosted in Paris.
