EFEKT arhitektura – Slovenia

He is an architect born 1982 in Celje, with his office currently based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He studied architecture at the University in Ljubljana and graduated 2007 from the Faculty of Architecture. Following this he attended his master’s in architecture and Urbanism and graduated in 2008. After receiving his diploma, he collaborated with Faculty of Architecture between 2009 to 2012 as an assistant for planning and landscape design. In 2009 he co-founded studio MODULAR arhitekti, currently he works as leading architect in his own architectural office EFEKT arhitektura.

His work investigates how contemporary architecture can be embedded in regional building culture based on local context of space.  The project portfolio displays the wide repertoire of design exploration ranging from master plans, public buildings (kindergartens, schools), mixed use development, offices, housing and villas. For his work in the field he received several prestigious awards in Slovenia and abroad – Plecnik medal for best realization 2015, Golden pencils from Chamber of architecture 2015, BIG SEE wood award 2018.

He was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2015, Piranesi award 2015 and in 2013 winner of the WAN13 - World architecture news in category Education-Future projects.
