Arnoldas Gabrenas
Architect and Associate Professor
GABRĖNAS Arnoldas (1977) is a doctor of humanities, associate professor at the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. Research interests: contemporary architecture, wooden architecture, history of architecture, aesthetics of architecture, architecture philosophy, art studies, cultural studies. Member of The Architects’ Chamber of Lithuania. Founder of architecture studio ARARTE. Prize winner of various architectural competitions. Author and coauthor of projects created and built in Lithuania and other countries.
Ruta Leitanaite
President of Architects Association of Lithuania (since May 2017 May).
Previously - Creative director at the Architects Association of Lithuania (2008-2017). Organizer of various architectural events: architecture exhibitions, lectures, workshops, seminars, architectural competitions and curator of the official website of AAL (architektusajunga.lt). Curator of Vilnius’ City pavilion at “Pop-up Cities Expo” exhibition in Edinburgh, Scotland; Baltic State’s pavilion at the World Congress of International Union of Architects in Seoul (S. Korea, 2017).
Host and author of a radio-program "An architect is required" at “Ziniu radijas” (Lithuania) (2013-present)

Liutauras Nekrosius

Biography: Liutauras Nekrošius is an architect (2004, VGTU), PhD in History and Theory of Architecture (2009, VGTU). He serves as Dean and Associate Professor at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. Since 2010 he is member of expert board at the Department for Cultural Heritage, Lithuanian Ministry of Culture. Since 2007 – member of editorial board of regional architectural magazine Project Baltia. He was editor-in-chief of national architectural magazine Archiforma for 2 years, deputy editor of scientific magazine Journal of Architecture and Urbanism for 5 years, since 2018 member of editorial board of Architecture and Urban Planning.
The current research interests: history and heritage protection of modern architecture, architecture of educational buildings. Research result have been presented in 13 national and international scientific, over 60 vocational and specialized publications and numerous conferences since 2004. He compiled and co-compiled 6 peer-reviewed publications on modern and contemporary Lithuanian architecture. In 2014 he initiated and leads complex academic project on educational architecture “Lithuania Goes to School”, which contains research, conferences, exhibitions, student and community engaging workshops.
Audrius Novickas
Vilnius Gediminas Technical University
Audrius Novickas is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher of architecture born in Vilnius in 1968. He studied painting at Vilnius Art Academy and received Master of Arts degree in Intermedia Art from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. He holds PhD in Art History and Criticism and is an associated professor at the Department of Architecture, Theory and Art of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. He exhibited his artworks in 6 solo exhibitions, and over 40 group shows in Lithuania and abroad, curated contemporary art projects and designed exhibition architecture. His scientific experience includes one book and 13 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Areas of artistic practice: post-conceptual art, artistic research of sociocultural and ideological aspects of architecture and urban space; teaching areas and academic interests: interaction between visual art and architecture, architectural semantics, phenomenology.
Serkan Cakit
Professor at the School of Architecture Vilnius Gediminas Technical University
Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (Routledge) and Lituanus (Chicago)
Born in 1963 Prof. Almantas Samalavicius is an architectural historian, aesthetician, and urban researcher as well as literary scholar. He is a professor at the school of Architecture, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University where he teaches architectural criticism, aesthetics of architecture, city culture and urban studies in MA programs and supervises doctoral dissertations. Simultaneously he is a professor at the Department of English, Vilnius University.
He is an author of some 12 scholarly books as well as editor of 11 collections of essays and academic articles and anthologies published in Lithuania, UK, and USA. His interests as a writer range from Baroque architecture and history of architectural ideas to urban theories of the modern period as well as cultural, architectural and literary criticism. Last but not least he is the author of two acclaimed books on the problems and history of higher education published in Lithuania.
In addition, he is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Architecture and Urbanism (Taylor and Francis/Routledge) and Chicago-based Lituanus: the Lithuanian Quarterly. He has previously served as president of Lithuanian PEN and continues to sit on its board.
His books, essays, and articles have been translated into some 14 languages and were awarded 8 prizes in his home country.
Kestutis Lupeikis
Kestutis Lupeikis
Architect and Apainter
Kestutis Lupeikis (born 22 July 1962 in Vinlius) Vilnius) is a Lithuanian Architect and Apainter. Lupeikis has received state grants for his work in both fields, which has been shown at 10 solo and 38 group exhibitions in Lithuania and Germany. He designed the Public procurator's office in Vilnius.
