The tenement house at Gertrudy Street is located in the very center of the city. A small tenement house, sandwiched between larger and taller ones, was vacated by tenants a few years ago. The project’s ambition is to give a new function to the building, consisting of representative apartments with a view of the Planty Park - the largest park of the old town in Krakow.
Although the façade in the added part is modern, its division refers to the windows located in the old part of the building. The characteristic windows of the old tenement house have been preserved as well as the main structural walls, supplemented with new reinforcements under the newly built-up section. The height of the building, imposed by the conservation office, fits softly into the street frontage.
