The exhibition “Archive tells its history —The books of the Renzo Piano Foundation” displays the eleven books published by the Renzo Piano Foundation. Just like folding the corner of a significant page in your favorite book, the exhibition extends in the elongated space of the lobby following a timeline that goes through the work by Renzo Piano.
The folded line is made up of eleven modules placed side by side for a length of 22 meters, while the width and inclination of the fold are created by the features of the exhibits themselves. The anthracite-colored surface engages in a dialogue with the metal elements of the hall and the veining of the marble.
Conceived from the beginning to have a second life, once the exhibition was over, part of the installation has now become permanent in the Gio Ponti Architecture Library, part of the Leonardo Campus of the Milan Polytechnic.
