Biography
As these contexts are rarely homogeneous, our writing tends to be hybrid. Those projects are realized or on-going projects on various scales. They prove our interest for elements that are transferred, imitated and put together, and that keep a definite link as sign/object to their referent.

Biography
Above all our association is the meeting and the friendship of 2 people : maxime le trionnaire and gwénaël le chapelain (born in 1979). This encounter occurred in 1997 in the School of Architecture of Nantes. During our studies, we create a deep bond and polish our architect's visions. Graduated in 2004, we work in many architecture agencies with good reputation like Architecture Studio, Block, Duncan Lewis, Stéphane Maupin, X'tu, ... In parallel, we carry through several design competitions and a cycle of installations about sport and architecture.
Bolstered up by this experience, we decide in 2006 to set up our own business and to constitute "mxg architectes".
Our first orders came from the west of France. In 2010 we integrate existing group named a_LTA architectes as principal associates.
a_LTA architectes (le trionnaire x2 - tassot - le chapelain) is a partnership composed by four associate architects based in Rennes.
a_LTA's projects are particular, organized and realized with a pragmatic aim in view.
a_LTA's operations are reproductions of signs taken from some specific fields, the purpose of which is a search of feelings. we are sensitive to the contexts in which we operate. That's why we are particularly interested in local, history and psychological fields of projects.

a_LTA gladly chose the local instead of the global and the specific instead of the generic. a_LTA aims to execute a simple and understandable architecture, an architecture close to its surroundings.
CRISTAL RIVIERA
The Féval city-block is a significant part of the renovation program performed around the Rennes rail-station. The urban project is developed by FGP and Territores. The project suggests to develop a new territory to connect the two sides of the city involving changes in landscape and topography. The railway road passes through urban structures like a river would pass through giant tectonic monuments in a form of large crystals.
The project consists of three buildings made by 3 different architects, the whole project is structured around a landscape rift. The “crystals” are carved in a way to make the inner territory be reachable by sunlight.
We defined a section of the office by calibrating floors to 3.40m slab to slab. Savings in the height of each floor added up to one additional floor for the 28m building. Thus this solution created a large area which gives us the flexibility to "cut" large volumes to produce fancy crystal-like shapes making all composition more spectacular. This ability to resize volumes allows us to create a valley where the three buildings meet on the Féval Street and allow daylight to enter into the center of the block.
Success of the Féval city-block depends heavily on the quality of the infrastructure on the ground floors of the three buildings. We paid particular attention to increasing accessibility to the inner spaces from the outside.
