Caner Bilgin, Bilgin Architects, Turkey


Caner is a Turkish architect and co-founder of Bilgin Architects. He completed his undergraduate degree at Istanbul Kültür Üniversitesi in 2009, after graduating from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi. During 2008 2009, he attended Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. He completed his Master's degree in Architectural Design program at Istanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi in 2011. In 2011, he commenced his professional career at Teğet Architecture. Until 2013, he engaged in various competition projects and conceptual design processes at Teğet before founding Bilgin Architects. 

In addition to his professional practice, he worked as a part-time lecturer at Istanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi from 2012 to 2019, overseeing studio sessions. In 2016, he participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale at the Turkish Pavilion with an installation titled "Baştarda". In 2024, he was honored with the Ariktera Young Architect Award. Throughout his professional career, he has achieved significant success and won awards in various national architectural competitions. He has also organized seminars and workshops at different universities and institutions.

Bilgin Architects established in 2014 and based in Istanbul, the architectural practice led by Caner Bilgin and Begüm Yılmaz Bilgin aims to produce high-quality and distinctive designs at every scale. The services provided, where design and implementation supervision are managed as an integral whole, address issues such as economy, construction technique, sustainability, and spatial quality within the context of urban integrity, all balanced around the human experience. The practice has undertaken projects in various scales and diverse areas, including offices, transportation and infrastructure, individual and social housing, gallery and museum buildings, accommodation facilities, and cultural centers, focusing on architectural production in a wide range of fields.
