Tsampikos Petras: Architect, Founder of PETRĀS architecture
Tsampikos Petras was born in Piraeus and was raised in the neighborhood of the knights in Rhodes Island, Greece. He is a graduate of the School of Architecture at the National Technical University of Athens and a scholarship awardee of the NTUA postgraduate program specializing in "Design-Space-Culture". He is currently pursuing his PhD under the title ‘Perception of Urban Landscape’.
He has participated in research projects and has won awards in Hellenic and international architectural competitions. His work has been exhibited at the 6th panhellenic "WALLS" exhibition in Patras, the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Biennale for Young Architects in Athens and the XIII International Architecture Biennale in Buenos Aires. He received the Europe's Emerging Architect - 40 under 40 award in 2011 from the European Centre of Architecture and the International Architecture Award 2018 - from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
PETRĀS architecture, established in 2013, evolved as an international award-winning architecture practice and has received several national and international awards. The architecture studio elaborates ον the most advanced technology as long as with traditional design techniques in order to answer the timeless question of architecture to exist as α place of experience and meaning.
Thanasis Polyzoidis: Architect, Co-Founder of topio7 Architecture
Thanasis Polyzoidis is an Architect (NTUA Athens) and a Landscape Architect (MLA-UPC ETSAB Barcelona). He works as a freelancer, and he is also the co-founder of topio7 Architecture and Landscape Design firm based in Athens (Katerina Andritsou – Panita Karamanea – Thanasis Polyzoidis).
He has collaborated with various design firms in Barcelona and Athens, having gained wide experience in public large-scale urban design – landscape projects and in private ones (landscape & architecture projects) in Greece and abroad. He has been granted various awards in national and international architectural/landscape design competitions, and his work has been presented in exhibitions and publications in Greece and abroad. He received the Europe's Emerging Architect - 40 under 40 Award in 2018 from the European Centre of Architecture and Chicago Athenaeum (European Award – 40UNDER40 AWARD 2017-2018).
The main objectives of his work are the holistic approach of space design within the framework of ecological-bioclimatic design, sustainability, landscape ecology, and the integration of the project in the landscape with respect to the unique qualities of its location and the socio-cultural conditions of the place. Among his special interests are design solutions that emphasize a close connection to nature and its processes, and the ambition to design places where people will feel involved and will take responsibility for their maintenance.
Iro Skouloudi: Architect, Designer
Iro Skouloudi graduated from School of Architecture of National Technical University of Athens in 2007 and the postgraduate program “Space, Design and Built Environment” of Technical University of Crete in 2017. From 2007 to 2014 she worked for several architectural firms in Athens and Chania and since 2014 is providing freelance architectural services and project management. She is based in Crete Greece, where she lives and works employing for her designs advanced digital technologies and computational tools.
She has participated in architectural competitions and workshops. Her professional and academic work has been honored and exhibited in 5th Trienalle | Architecture in Crete 2013 and at the 9th Barcelona Landscape Biennale in 2016 respectively.
Since 2016, apart from her architectural works, she manages KUKUNARI, her first collection of parametric wooden lamps with sales in Greece and abroad as well. KUKUNARI has been published in several magazines and was selected for the Good Design Greece Exhibition 2018.
Tzina Sotiropoulou: Architect, Co-Founder of architectones02, Founder of SLUS.gr
Tzina Sotiropoulou was born in Athens in 1976. She studied architecture at the National Technical University of Athens (2001). In 2003 she completed a Master of Arts in Advanced Theatre Practice at Central School of Speech and Drama in London, specializing in set and costume design. She is a freelance journalist writing on culture, design, and architecture for Kathimerini Newspaper, and has previously collaborated with Athens Voice and SOUL Magazine.
She is an Expert Valuer in Real Estate Property - REV (Recognized European Valuers) and a founding partner of architectones02 design studio since 2003. Their work integrates research, architecture, landscape, graphic design, and set design for theatre and television. Their projects have been awarded in architectural competitions and published in several magazines. She participated at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition- La Biennale di Venezia (2016) as a member of the curatorial & design team of the cooperative project #ThisIsACo-op (Association of Greek Architects).
In 2017 she founded the online platform SLUS.gr, a digital magazine that reflects urban culture mainly through architecture but is also engaged with design, art, landscape, books, music, cinema, and travel.
