Ignacio Hornillos, HORNILLOS ATELIER, Spain

Ignacio Hornillos (Madrid, 1985) is a PhD in architecture, Master in Advanced Architectural Projects and professor and researcher of architecture theory. His work explores the relationship between pure geometries and complex objects that resolve the different scales of the "architectural phenomenon".

His professional platform is externalized through “Hornillos Atelier”, a tool through which he develops works in architecture, art, furniture design and interior design.

His training has been complemented by studies in Seville (ETSAS – 2003/2004), in the United States (Illinois Institute of Technology – 2007/2008), in Italy (Domus Academy – 2010) and in Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica – 2013/2015).
His projects, marked by a strong position in domestic structuralism, have received national and international recognition. Different media and institutions such as Fundación Arte y Derecho (2011), Casabella (2012), Chile Awards (2013), Ibero-American Design Biennial (2014), CETEM (2017), Arquia/Próxima (2018), Concéntrico (2020), CSCAE (2022) have published and awarded his work.
