FLORIM stone is the brand by Florim dedicated to the world of furnishing and combines design and functionality in one large format (320x160 cm) and three different thicknesses (6-12-20 mm). These surfaces, produced with a process that is up to 100% sustainable, are the result of Florim’s innovation and research activities and boast a long list of certifications. FLORIM stone was created in 2016 to meet a specific architectural need: to offer interior design professionals all the versatility of appearance and functional performances typical of large ceramic slabs. In 2023 FLORIM stone enriched his range with thirteen new surfaces with different aesthetic and material effects (**).
By its very nature, the entire FLORIM stone range is a perfect example of the basic principles of the circular economy: reduce, reuse, recycle. In fact, it is the outcome of a virtuous process that recycles 100% of greenware waste from the production phase, reuses 100% of wastewater and reduces electricity purchases by up to 100% through in-house power generation. Its intrinsic characteristics make it durable over time, as it withstands humidity, chemicals, weather and wear.
FLORIM stone surfaces unite design and functionality in a single large size – 320x160 cm – and three different thicknesses: 6-12-20 mm (the first two with glass fibre reinforcement). They consist of a natural blend of ceramic clays and mineral pigments, which combine the typical characteristics of porcelain stoneware (durability, resistance to stains, high temperatures, weather and abrasion, impermeability, UV resistance, hygiene and extremely easy cleaning and care) with an infinite variety of aesthetic and material inspirations (looks and textures inspired by a wide variety of materials) (stone, marble, concrete, metal, solid colour, coloured-body).
Alongside EN ISO 14001 (for environmental management), EN ISO 50001 (for energy management) and EN ISO 45001 (health and safety), these materials also provide specific product-related guarantees. In fact, FLORIM stone surfaces have NSF (National Sanitation Foundation – Food Equipment Materials) and Kosher certification (in the latter case, the first Italian ceramics district brand to be awarded this status) confirming that they are “suitable for use in direct contact with foods and the relative liquid condensates which they produce”. Ideal for countertops and tables, these large slabs are also a safe choice for the environment thanks to Greenguard gold certification, which protects people’s health and wellbeing by improving air quality and reducing exposure to indoor chemicals.
