In 2017, PureWine launched their first product, setting out to make wine accessible to those who suffer from headaches, stuffy nose, and allergic side effects. While other wine purifiers only remove sulfites, PureWine developed a patented filtration system which removes both sulfites and histamines - the causes of most adverse reactions - without affecting the flavor of the wine, and without adding any harsh chemicals to the wine.
PureWine has recently created the Bio-Wand, a single-glass wine filter designed with sustainability in mind. A proprietary blend of natural and synthetic, biodegradable, and food-safe polymers is used for both the handle and fabric. These polymers are made with ingredients that pass industry standards for composting. After use, the handle and fabric are fully compostable, breaking down in roughly six months.
To use The Bio-Wand, consumers swirl the filter in their glass of wine for three minutes. This process will quickly remove the sulfites and histamines while maintaining all of the natural wine flavor. Users can then enjoy their drink without the usual uncomfortable side effects. The Wand has been designed to give the impression of a wine glass and the serpentine handle smoothly transitions to a wine charm with one of four shapes: wine drop, heart, clover leaf, or diamond. These charms can be easily twisted off and clipped onto the wine glass, helping wine lovers know which glass is theirs.
