Recent times have reminded us all of the importance of handling our resources sparingly. Cutting waste and choosing sustainable alternatives has become an ideal for us to pursue. Hence, we would like to renew our push for natural, renewable, recyclable, and recycled materials in acoustic design.
Inspired by three-dimensional origami folds, HexStargon is a cutting-edge sustainable, versatile, and flexible collection, encouraging reuse and re-creation to cut waste more than ever. A stunning double-face design with a formable surface reminiscent of a fusion of hexagons and stars, origami pleats, snakeskin, and air cushions, presenting over six different patterns, based on a single module with unlimited possibilities in creating different designs for many applications. Its accordionesque nature allows it to reduce and expand in size to enable easy storage and a voluptuous presence at the same time. Further, due to the modular nature, the surface can further be expanded, raised, or recreated according to the user's needs.
Of course, it is equipped with state-of-the-art acoustic properties to create new spaces. HexStargon is available as wall panels, wallcoverings, wallpapers, wall tiles, rugs, ceiling panels, (table) baffles, lighting, desk screens, design screens, room dividers, privacy booths (islands), chaise longues, stools, benches, racks, clouds, cushions, vases, bowls, baskets, tea-lights, tissue boxes, pinboards, other living accessories, jewelry, fashion accessories, packaging, etc... and naturally allows for storage capacities due to its unique form. It is available in different sizes and shapes including cylinders, spheres, prisms, curves, etc...
It is handmade locally, in a solar-powered working environment from materials benefiting our world: BananaPaper – a 100% recycled fiber made from banana tree waste, solely using rainwater and leftovers from the same plants in the production process, as well as in other sustainable papers.
Merino Woolfelt – a natural absorbent of sound, airborne toxins, and formaldehyde as well as an antibacterial agent. It holds insulating properties and has a natural ability of breathing, in the sense of absorbing and releasing moisture from the air, acting as a natural air-conditioning - reducing energy wasted by heating and air-conditioning. Raw Merino Woolfelt – retains the positive aspects of merino wool felt but without any carbonization or bleaching processes, retaining its natural appeal ornamented by seeds and grass, and reducing the amount of water used in its production. The materials are naturally fire, tear, and water-resistant, as well as renewable and biodegradable. Free of harmful substances.
