Slate™ features a variety of contemporary styled flat luminaires providing quality visual comfort. In addition to Slate Pendant, the product line includes Slate for Wood Ceilings, a range of models compatible with different suspended wood ceilings.

These minimalist, refined products enable cost-effective architectural lighting layouts and hassle-free installation with easy height adjustments using the patent-pending Universal Ceiling Bracket (UWB), developed by Axis and delivered with your luminaires. Wood ceiling luminaires typically use fixed brackets. However, Axis has taken a different approach to make installation easier, more convenient and more effective.

Slate 2, Slate 3 and Slate 5 can be installed in different types of wood ceilings using the patent-pending adjustable UWB mounting solution and delivered with the luminaires. Slate 2, Slate 3 and Slate 5 luminaires can also be mounted in wood ceilings using fixed assembly clips supplied by the wood ceiling manufacturer or a third party.

Slate 1 is a versatile lighting solution designed to mount seamlessly between wood slats, featuring a slim housing that measures just 1 5/16” wide and 2 1/4” deep. It offers five optical options, including a flush lens, regressed lens, Micro Louvers, MikroLite®, and Mini Accent spotlights, with the flush lens also compatible for use with MikroLite or Accent modules. Available in lengths ranging from 2 to 8 feet, Slate 1 delivers an output of up to 600 lumens per foot and includes an integral driver that allows for easy maintenance access from below.

Slate 2, Slate 3, and Slate 5 offer a choice of aperture widths—2”, 3 1/4″, and 5 1/4″—making them ideal replacements for most wood slat sizes. Featuring a streamlined flat-style housing that is only 1″ deep, these luminaires incorporate a patent-pending optical system with a single-side edge-lit lightguide. They are also compatible with Armstrong® WoodWorks® ceiling systems, as evaluated by Axis Lighting, ensuring seamless integration in a variety of architectural applications.

The Slate series is available in lengths ranging from 2′ to 8′ and offers direct light distribution with varying outputs across models: Slate 2 delivers 275 to 600 lm/ft, Slate 3 provides 450 to 800 lm/ft, and Slate 5 ranges from 550 to 1000 lm/ft. Each model is available with a CRI of 80 or 90 and color temperatures of 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K. The system supports either a snap-on or remote driver, integrates with the Axis UWB bracket, and is fully compatible with Armstrong® WoodWorks® ceiling systems, ensuring flexible installation and reliable performance in architectural applications.

Slate Pendant is one of the slimmest flat luminaires around. Its integral mini driver is the key to its thinner profile and ease of installation. Thanks to a minimalist design approach, this luminaire features a streamlined profile that blends in well with any space.

At only 1 5/8″ deep, Slate Pendant features a full-width continuous lens delivering uniform brightness. Indeed, the one-piece lightguide and lens assembly presents an uninterrupted appearance, with continuous runs making for graceful, seamless lighting statements. To simplify installation, the easy-to-use cable mounting enables adjustable suspension from T-bars, drywall and solid ceilings (e.g. concrete).

Other performance characteristics also contribute to ensuring visual comfort in various layouts, with a range of outputs and wide indirect distribution adding true functionality to timeless design. Ideal for large spaces with exposed ceilings, high ceiling areas and open plan work environments, Slate Pendant also excels in areas with lower ceilings.

Create iconic panels of light, as Slate Pendant brings a comprehensive set of attributes that provide flexible architectural options for even the most demanding lighting projects.

This ultra-slim luminaire, with a 1 5/8″ depth and slightly regressed full-width acrylic lens, is available in 2’ to 8’ lengths (in 0.5’ increments) and continuous runs. It offers direct and direct/indirect distributions with outputs up to 1000 lm/ft (direct) and 1200 lm/ft (indirect) using Batwing optics. Features include an integral mini driver, CRI options of 80 or 90, CCTs from 2700K to 4000K, and an Axitune® Tunable White range of 2700K–5000K. End cap options include flat and radius styles.
