The RIDGID SubCompact Brushless 5in random orbit sander (R870651) is a revolutionary leap in the battery powered sander landscape. It’s design leverages modern motor technology and a high-level understanding of ergonomics to create a sander that is as compact as pneumatic and corded sanders without the hassle of air-hoses or plug in cords.
The cordless sander has been reworked to reduce vibrations felt by the user by 60% when compared to its 10-year-old predecessor. This allows the user to take advantage of its stable operation in long run times without feeling the fatigue of vibrations.
The sander features a triple layer mesh dust collection bag for superior dust collection when used out of reach of vacuum hoses that securely twist locks onto the sander. An inner spring construction within the dust bag allows the bag to be compressed for easy cleaning.
When in reach of a shop vacuum, the innovative dust shoot adapter allows for quick and secure attachment of any common size show vacuum hose that the user has ready. A tactile speed adjustment dial gives the user ultimate control over the rpms to balance work speed and the high-quality finish of a work piece. The design of the sander further aids the user in precision through its low profile and comfortable rubber coated pommel design that places the user’s hand close to the work surface for increased stability.
