Designing a new intercom may seem anachronistic in today’s digital age, yet it remains a relevant and meaningful object in everyday life for many of us. The intercom has evolved significantly in its systemic integration, while its core function has remained unchanged for decades. A seemingly simple action, yet deeply symbolic: allowing someone to enter our personal space. Our goal was to design a product that embodies this gesture through clarity and simplicity. The result is a silent and discreet product that comes to life through user interaction, featuring a simple, clean user experience and elegant yet surprising details.



The balanced shapes and essential design reflect Comelit identity in terms of safety and reliability, allowing the product to discreetly stand out within the domestic environment. Buttons have a different visual weight based on their functional importance, making them immediately identifiable and finally, the volume function, which has always been hidden, has been brought to the forefront and transposed from the digital world to make it more familiar.

The two main volumes, the base and the handset, dialogue with each other, maintaining aesthetic coherence while respecting a functional separation that highlights the handset, especially when it needs to be identified. A handset that, with its thin gray side profile, partially reveals itself, waiting to amaze the user during use.
