For almost five years, the team has embarked on a long-term project adventure with the small rural commune of Meys, built on mutual trust between the commune and us as a general contractor. The architects’ role sometimes resembles a form of assistance to the communal project management. This relationship, initially stemming from winning a small competition to build six residences, has since evolved. In Meys, they created the first master plan for the Monts du Lyonnais.
The commune's initiatives attracted the interest of other municipalities, leading them to surpass regulatory urbanism. In Meys, a series of micro-interventions emerged from the master plan, creating connections in the village, rehabilitating a wetland area, establishing the shared garden hut, a pergola, and transforming an abandoned hangar at the entrance of the village into the communal technical center. Today, the architects present a comprehensive approach that forms the powerful foundation for urban, human, and architectural coherence.
