Increasingly, architects are attached to value local resources and know-how to develop local, not relocatable, and environmentally friendly sectors. This is the choice that was made for the construction of this building, whose stones come directly from the Estaillades stone-pit at 40km from the construction site. Little transported, little transformed these stones confer to the building a good Carbon balance sheet and great sustainability.

Building a public facility, bringing together strong technical and functional constraints such as a music school, by reinterpreting the structural stone's millenary technique paradoxically represents a challenge in the 2010s. But this effort contributes to the emergence of new constructive cultures and the structuring of local economic sectors by demonstrating that a traditional material can offer a renewed comfort of use and assume a strong technicality. This way of considering the act of building in its environmental and social consequences makes it possible to reconcile sustainable development with local economic development.

Beyond a globalized production system, each territory, each environment holds its resources at a regional scale. The team is trying to collectively seize them to reinvent a form of sustainable and shared prosperity.
