FNN Sustainability Center was designed with the multi-functions such as containing historical documents, being a museum that includes machines and equipment, consisting of offices. The steel structure was built up by Tekfen company as one of the exhibition elements. By changing the space between the building and the perforated shell which covers the building, subspaces like internal gardens and climatization pools were created. Due to the shell, a green zone that separates offices and industrial complexes was achieved.
The shell also prevents the building from heating up by creating air pressure differences in mid-spaces and blocking the direct sunlight. All places have a relation with the green space due to the placements of offices and exhibition areas around the courtyard. In addition to visual relationship, by using filtered rainwater and photovoltaic panels that provide 45% of the building’s energy consumption, an environment-friendly building was designed.
