Europe 40 Under 40 Awards Tell a friend

The project at cour des Lyanes aims at reinventing the interior landscape of this historical craftsmen court by preserving its atmosphere while connecting it to the future. Instead of creating self-centered gardens at the scale of each plot, the idea was to design a planted continuum with the surrounding gardens to forge one large green space at the scale of the entire plot, thus creating several biodiversity corridors and an oasis of freshness in an ever-densifying city.

The project is designed through its voids and landscape spaces. The built part stems from this process, made of a fine fabric that is knitted with existing buildings, that wraps itself around the gardens and borders two patios at the ground floor towards which all units are turned to. The variety of heights of the surrounding lodges dialogues with the scale of the building and housing typology.
