Omer Selcuk Baz Tell a friend
Born in Nurnberg, Germany in 1978, Omer finished his primary and high school education in Antakya, Turkey. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Bursa Uludag University in 2002, he attended Vienna Technical University’s master’s program. He received several awards at various national and international competitions during his studies at Vienna Technical University. While doing his master’s degree, Omer was involved in various architectural projects focusing primarily on residential housing and shopping mall projects at Atelier Stelzhammer. After winning the first prize at a national competition organized by the Bursa Branch Office of Turkish Central Bank, he started working as a professional architect in Turkey. Omer has been participating in post-graduate architectural studios at Bilgi University and İstanbul Kültür University (both in Istanbul, Turkey) as a project coordinator. He is also involved in various international and national architectural competitions as a juror.
In 2011, Omer co-founded Yalin Mimarlik with Okan Bal, a well-known urban planner. Some of Yalin Mimarlik’s projects include, but not limited to, Central Bank of the Turkish Republic (1st prize), the Troy Museum (1st prize), Riyadh Mosque (1st prize), and Cappadocia Museum.
