The Genesis G80 Sport is a luxury four-door sports sedan that takes the elegance and refinement of the popular G80 and adds high-performance technologies to deliver a driver-focused car that is true to the sporty agility of brand’s range. It builds on the refined performance of the popular Genesis G80 and adds a powerful new engine plus unique sport performance and design upgrades delivering improved driving dynamics and sport agility.
As the luxury automotive category has changed in the face of the modern industry and economy, consumers care less about the badge, and more about how car makers can improve their experience and quality of life. Veering from the brand-association of the time when current tier-one luxury vehicles were developed, luxury has a new definition for those who seek it. The challenge for Genesis is empowering people with first-class experiences and products – using design and performance to exemplify modern luxury for a modern day customer.
Throughout the development of the G80 Sport, engineers and designers worked closely to ensure form and function developed simultaneously to meet and exceed this modern standard of luxury. From aesthetic design that is both smooth and aggressive to connected car features such as compatibility with Amazon Alexa, CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as leading safety design, the G80 sport’s design meets and exceeds all needs for the modern luxury car buyer.
For the exterior, the G80 Sport features a bold, cross-hatch design dark chrome grille, sport rocker moldings and unique lower front and rear fascia designs for an aggressive sport appearance. Large 19-inch dark alloy wheels plus additional dark satin trim details accent the vehicle’s exterior design. The sport details continue inside the cabin where the driver is presented with sport pedals and a thick, sport-designed steering wheel. Generously bolstered performance seats with contrast stitching embrace the driver, and are offered in either black or gray leather. A rich, black microfiber suede headliner and genuine carbon fiber interior trim finish the cabin’s interior environment.
These design elements highlight Genesis’ unique position as the only luxury automotive brand that breaks free from the legacy of what luxury used to be. It exhibits why Genesis is a leader in its class ahead of “established” luxury brands such as Lexus, Audi and Cadillac. Add to this the seamless integration of safety and convenience technology features that also lead the segment and customers get a piece of modern luxury that doesn’t point to the old ideas, but to the way ahead.
